How Our Programs Work
Although each client is different, and we do approach every person's case on an individual basis, there is a general process by which DCC helps people like you everyday. Below is a brief, five step look at how the Debt Consolidation Counselors program works.

Step 1: Financial Assessment
Debt Consolidation Counselors provides a free, confidential consultation to assess your financial situation to determine whether or not you qualify for either our Debt Settlement, or Debt Management programs. To have an immediate evaluation, simply fill out our free consultation form here.

Step 2: DCC Contacts Your Creditors Directly
Once you have been accepted into our program, we begin working on your case immediately. If your creditors have recently harassed you with collection calls, these calls will stop immediately.

Step 3: You Set Aside Funds To Settle Your Debt, Or Enroll In Our Debt Management Program
In order to settle your debt fully and become debt free, you must set aside funds equal to the monthly amount identified in your settlement contract, OR, you must keep up with payments as noted in your debt management contract.

Step 4: Selecting Account Resolution Order
Once you are prepared to begin settling your debt, you will be provided with a form to fill out and fax or mail back to us. This form informs us as to which accounts you would like us to work on first, the amount available for settlement, and the date the funds will be available once a settlement is reached. Once we have received this information our staff will begin negotiating a settlement.

Or, in the case of a debt management application, we will begin issuing payments to your creditors as contracted, as soon as you begin submitting them.

Step 5: Debt Settlement Or Debt Management Begins
Once an acceptable settlement has been reached, you will provide the funds directly to your creditor. This process will be repeated until all contracted debts are settled. With our debt management program, you agree to budget a certain amount each month and provide this payment to our agency, which is then paid to your creditors according to the priorities set by you.
